Just before the first lockdown kicked in back in March 2020, my adaptation of Catherine Cookson’s The Cinder Path had just completed a tour of the UK. It played theatres up and down the country, and starred Nick Cochrane – who you may remember as Andy MacDonald from Coronation Street.
Well, fast forward two years, and the play is back out on tour again.
This is a slightly shorter tour, and it’s staying more local to Cookson Country, playing just a handful of theatres in the North East (as well as one date in Scunthorpe). However the cast has grown to 15 actors, there are some fantastic new musical numbers in it, and we have a very exciting headliner in the show.
Charles Lawson – who will no doubt be best remembered as Jim MacDonald from Coronation Street – is playing the evil father of the story, Edward MacFell.
He is a fantastic addition to the line-up, and audiences are already snapping up tickets to see him in action.
Tickets are limited, so if make sure you get yours now! The tour dates are:
12th Feb: Tyne Theatre Newcastle 7.30pm
13th Feb Phoenix Theatre Blyth 3.00pm
