Hamlet
The setting for this production was relocated to a trendy bar on the quayside in Newcastle, which operates as a front for a small-time Geordie mafia family. (It could be relocated to any similar city in the UK – or beyond).
Henry V
This version of the script was pared right back, using an all-male cast playing multiple roles. It was set in a hospital for recovering soldiers during WW1 in 1916, around the Battle of the Somme.
Romeo + Juliet
This adaptation re-imagines the two feuding families in the North-East, drawing on the famous Sunderland/Newcastle rivalry. This setting can be re-placed in other regions, and is a perfect version for both amateur companies and youth theatres/drama groups.
