Gala Theatre, Durham

This claasic tale is given a few unexpected twists by new writing/directing team Neil Armstrong and Paul Hartley.  With a great cast, the show is a refreshingly fresh take on the traditional story, with new ideas which don’t take anything away from the much loved tale but add to it.

The show played to packed audiences for over 60 performances, and broke all box office records at this Durham theatre.

“The Uglies, Sweaty (Paul Dunn) and Betty (John Carter) are horrible and funny, especially in the hilarious glue-making sketch.”
The Stage
“Betty and Sweaty are brilliantly played by John Carter and Paul Dunn who exude such fun and energy that one lost his/her balance and the other a wig in the show’s highlight ‘glue’-making scene, a twist on the kitchen mess-up.”
Newcastle Chronicle
“Ugly Sisters Sweaty (Paul Dunn) and Betty (John Carter) were absolutely hilarious.  Their side-splitting antics and musical numbers, like Uptown Funk, really rose the roof, and when their wigs fell off during the messy scene I could barely contain myself.”
