The recent tour of I Left My Heart In Roker Park was an incredible, resounding, unexpected success! With runaway ticket sales, and fantastic feedback and responses from all the audiences.
From an original line-up of 5 performances, we eventually increased to 10 as the ‘house full’ signs continued to be put up outside the theatres! An amazing experience.
I couldn’t have put the whole thing together without the help of a brilliant and dedicated team. Writer and director Tom Kelly, designer David Gibson, the invaluable assitance and advice of producer Vanessa Karon, as well as all the superb teams at the venues – the Arts Centre Washington, the Durham Gala and of course The Customs House in South Shields, where the whole journey began.
And, fittingly enough, that’s where the journey will also end (for now, at least). The Customs House have asked me to come back and perform the show one last time, in the main auditorium, for one night only on Saturday 11th October. Tickets are already well on their way to selling out, so it’s going to be an amazing atmosphere.
If you’re local to South Shields and you haven’t yet got your tickets, go to the Customs House website now and get them; they won’t be available for long!
And if you manage to get there, I’ll see you in the bar afterwards for a post-match de-brief! HAWAY THE LADS!
