Some very exciting news to kick of 2019.
Three years ago I wrote the adaptation of Catherine Cookson’s The Cinder Path, which played at the Customs House theatre in South Shields. I’m pleased to announce that this year it will see a revival, in a much bigger production and touring various venues in the North East.
Entertainment Unlimited have taken on the script and will produce the show, which will be directed by Leah Bell and myself. We’re currently deep in discussions, and already it’s shaping up to be a much more ambitious and spectacular production than the 2015 version.
Already signed up to the cast is Coronation Street actor Nicholas Cochrane, who will be playing the part of scheming farmhand Ginger Slater. There’ll be more names announced soon.
Another exciting dimension this time round is the addition of original songs by brilliant composer Mike Redway.
The tour takes place over May and June this year, and visits the Phoenix Theatre in Blyth, the Billingham Forum, Consett Empire, and the Royalty Theatre in Sunderland.
You can join the Cinder Path facebook page, where you can link to get tickets for all performances. It’s already selling fast, so get your tickets now to avoid disappointment!
