Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

22 NOVEMBER 2018 – 5 JANUARY 2019
Gala Theatre, Durham

For the fourth year running I returned to the Gala Theatre in Durham, playing Dame Dolly Doodle  in their brand new panto Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, written and directed by Neil Armstrong and Paul Hartley.

Once again it proved popular with audiences and critics alike, boasting fantastic sets, amazing effects, and brilliant performances.  Another brilliant way to round off the year!  The show was seen by over 33,000 people, and was the most successful Gala panto since the theatre opened in 2002.

SOME REVIEWS OF THE SHOW:

“Special mention has to go to Paul Dunn whose return as the panto dame sees him in cracking form as Dame Dolly Doodle.”
Barbara Hodgson – The Chronicle (4 stars)

“Paul Dunn has played Dame at the Gala for four years and, as Dame Dolly Doodle, he not only manages to hit that delicate balance between the “bloke in a frock” type of Dame and the female impersonator but is also very funny”
Peter Lathan – British Theatre Guide

“[Chester] and Paul Dunn, as Snow White’s adoptive mum Dame Dolly Doodle, are clearly having a ball, bouncing off each other and bringing real physical skill to a scene in the dwarfs’ diamond/custard mine.”
Kevin Clark – Sunderland Echo

“…The hillarious Dame Dolly Doodle (Paul Dunn).”
Philip Tallentire – Teesside Gazette Live

“The audience interaction was really funny too. The panto dame … delivered [a] stellar performance.”
Samantha Rickleton – North East Family Fun

“Chester and Dame Dolly were the perfect comedy duo.”
